How GL Works

GL Review Process

To provide a better understanding of how the GL review process works, we have provided a chart showing how images are cycled through the system. As you can see, images that contain IPTC go directly to pending to be reviewed. This process streamlines submissions and requires no additional effort by the Seller. Images that do not contain IPTC go to Unfinished. These images must have title, description and keywords added before submitting. Images that are incomplete or need to be resubmitted, will be sent back to Unfinished. This would include images that have missing data, inaccurate titles and keywords, missing vector files, or vector file corrections. Unfinshed images need to be corrected and resubmitted to pending within 30 days of the submission date or they will be deleted.

Search Results Ranking

GL handles search results a little differently than other stock sites. Images are ranked heavily on the title and description rather than keywords. This reduces the amount of incorrect images appearing in search results due to poor keywording. GL does not strip titles, therefore it is important that your title and description be accurate and relate directly to the main topic of the image. In the example below, the first image will rank higher in search results because the search term "Gingerbread" appears three times, giving the image a ranking of +3. The second image will rank lower in results because the search term only appears once, giving it a ranking of +1.
