Sometimes old habits are hard to break. I find myself using the same “safe” colors in my artwork, so I decided to experiment and create some funky color palettes. I used this beautiful seamless pattern by smilewithjul to demonstrate side by side color. Each palette is saved as a downloadable ASE (Adobe Exchange File). Just click and download one or more files and import directly into your Illustrator swatch library. (Instructions below)

Instructions for installing ASE files
Choose one of the following from the Swatches palette or Swatches panel menu in InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop:
InDesign CS2/CS3: Load Swatches
Illustrator CS2/CS3: Open Swatch Library: Other Library
Photoshop CS2/CS3: Load Swatches
Navigate to where you saved the ASE file, and select it. The colors saved in the ASE file will be loaded into your swatches palette, ready for you to use.
